How does the US sustain its economy
Beside Military related manufacturing, there are not many goods, the US
produces, which are sold to other countries. Nobody wants a Detroit made
car. Ships are build in Asia. Most plastic crap is made in China. Japan
and Germany have cornered the market on top industrial machinery.

No one consumes nor wastes as much as Americans do.
Thus. we have the largest ''consumerist'' society. And that. compared to
the ''stingy'' europeans..resourceful chinese and of course. the cheap
east indians..
The U.S. still sells consumer goods to other countries (believe
it or not!).
But in addition, way back when, we actually loaned many other countries
money. Since the debts were so high & the payments were so low, there is
still interest due & payable on these debts. The problem now with that
investment is that we borrowed a ton of money in the last 40 years, so we
now owe money to other countries. In addition, many countries either paid off their debts or the debts were forgiven (written off/charged off) as uncollectable. This type of thing is what causes inflation. And then the continued printing of additional money that has no collateral backing adds to the inflation. Then importing & buying more goods that were produced by other countries than our country produces & sells, adds even further to it. And finally, bailing out failing financial institutions adds the finishing touch. And guess what the answer to ur actual question is: The Taxpayers! They are the only unregulated source of income that this country has which can be adjusted regularly to sustain an otherwise failling economy.
That is a good question, however you can bet the rich are
getting richer in the U.S. I for see world slavery, and people in America
will kill to get a job. The rich people will like that, It also means the
people will work for less..
The rich people have sold America and the work force out for .11 cents an
hour labor.. Now all the world powers have to do is sanction us.
The U.S. is the leading consumer country in the world. people
buy more products in U.S. than in any other place. The capitalism is at
its highest expression, competition, demand, sales, purchases, imports and
exports.
And of course war.
